Khaptad National Park trek is one of Nepal’s non-touristy, wilderness national parks that are frequented by a small number of travelers. The park’s area is 225 square kilometers. The Khaptad National Park, one of Khaptad’s

primary attractions, was formed in 1984 in the remote western part of Nepal. Beautiful oak and rhododendron forests surround the area. In this national park located 4,000 meters above sea level, there are bears, leopards, langurs, musk deer, 260 kinds of birds, 500 varieties of herbs, and an abundance of flora and fauna.

The Khaptad region is regarded as the ground-heaven of western Nepal. Nepal’s Doti, Achham, Bajang, and Bajura districts provide access to the Khaptad region, renowned for its natural beauty and ecological richness. It is simpler to approach the Khaptad region via Bajhang and Doti District. In addition to its natural diversity, Khaptad National Park is a well-known religious site because it is the home of renounced Hindu guru “Khaptad Swami” or “Khaptad Baba.” Khaptad Baba resided here for many years and discovered numerous medicinal herbs. Longly meditating in the Khaptad region, he designated a five-kilometer space for meditation and calm.

The Khaptad Lake and the breathtaking view of the Api and Saipal Himal ranges are of particular importance to tourists. The largest carnival, known as the Ganga Dashahara Carnival, is held in Khaptad on the fourteenth day of the Nepali month Jestha, which corresponds to the final week of May. The carnival is an excellent opportunity for travellers to experience the culture and lifestyle of the far west. In his territory, slaughtering, alcohol, and cigarettes are prohibited.
